Some Things Are Meant to Be

Wolf Angle ShotPeanut butter and chocolate. Warm milk and honey. Salt and pepper. Strawberries and cream. Bread and butter. Macaroni and cheese. Biscuits and gravy. Shrimp and grits. Fish and chips. Some things are just meant to be together. And it’s clear that Wolf understands that since introducing their induction ranges.

Imagine pairing up an awesome 30″ or 36″ induction cooktop with a 30″ or 36″ dual convection oven and what you get is Wolf‘s freshest addition…their freestanding induction range. Let’s add this up, shall we?

Wolf Pro Induction Range rev

Induction is the fastest, most responsive way to cook. It is super easy to keep clean, is safe, and efficient. Who needs added heat in the kitchen? We don’t. None of us do, especially not in Florida. You can keep your cool with this range surface. Wolf ovens offer dual convection fans, 10 cooking modes, a temperature probe that alerts you when your food reaches temp, and multi-rack configuration convenience. Choose your knob color to make it your own, in black, stainless, or their signature red. Having a pop-out control panel keeps the sleek appearance when not in use, but allows for easy reading when using the oven timer and light since it faces up.Wolf Pro Induction Range 3rev

There are two styles to choose from, transitional and professional, in both 30″ and 36″. MSRP starts at $6695, with the 36″ professional model topping out at $9350. We have the 36″ professional induction range on our floor if you are ready to jump into the best of both worlds, Induction and Wolf. Some things are meant to be.

Interview with a Dishwasher

Asko LogoAsko Logan 3What happens when you interview a fellow co-worker about their new Asko dishwasher? You get a lot of answers and some silly photo ops…..I put my glasses on for this one to get my “reporter” groove on…Asko Logan 5

Logan used to resort to a base model “other” brand that was noisy (you could hear the *squish*squish* of the water) and didn’t clean her dishes. It was bad, so bad that Quinn (pictured below in all his furry cuteness), her fur baby, helped out with the dishes. Asko Logan QuinnFast forward to about 6 months ago when Logan was the proud purchaser of a top-of-the-line Asko dishwasher and here is what she has to say from first hand experience…

Logan’s words:

“I put REALLY dirty dishes in there. I even put a casserole dish caked on with a dark berry cobbler and it came out CLEAN!!”

“My wine glasses come out streak free. I usually let them sit for a few days because I don’t have a full load right away.”

“I LOVE the silverware tray. I never use the silverware basket.”

“I don’t hear it. The little display window shows the time left. I also like that the design is simple, doesn’t have a name on the front, and doesn’t compete with other design elements in my kitchen.”

“Quinn likes to sit on the door when the dishwasher is open and sometimes ‘pre-wash’ the dishes. He is 10 lbs.” (It’s a good thing this dishwasher sanitizes the dishes!!!!!)

Asko Logan 4

The top of the line, D5656XXLHS model with a tubular handle has a MSRP of $2155, with the pro handle MSRP at $2210. Their base model starts at $979!!! Inside this stainless steel interior dishwasher sits a fully removal third utensil rack positioned in the center of the dishwasher. The WideClean zones offer more powerful wash action on pots, pans, and cobbler crusted Fiestaware. This model also has an interior light. And since Asko is the dishwasher line for the Subzero and Wolf family, you get a 2 year warranty AND amazing customer service. They also offer a 3 year warranty if it’s purchased and installed by us included as part of a full Subzero-Wolf package. Of course, we have this model and other Askos on the floor. We’d be happy to show them to you!Asko Logan 1

*Classic-Coffee-Consumption*

AACoffeeBeans*Classic-Coffee-Consumption* C-C-C at its Finest

When you think about coffee what’s the first thing that comes to mind? It very well may be Starbucks, but for me it’s all about the bean! There are many roasts to choose from along with many local coffee bean companies around Orlando. Fresh beans equal fresh, delicious coffee. We here at Aggressive Appliances have several built-in machines that provide you that personalized “get going” cup.

AAcoffeebeans2

Miele built-in coffee systems friendly usage make it easy to take you through many options to get that fresh cup of Joe. Every “coffee head” is after that perfect cup! The Miele machine also offers a color option and can come plumbed or non-plumbed.

AAcoffeebeans3

Wolf, Gaggenau, Thermador, Jenn-Air, and Bosch all offer these types of built-in products as well. It seems pretty simple and, in my opinionated taste buds, much more spectacular as compared to Starbucks and others. These units fit perfect in your customized kitchens, morning bars, guest suites, etc. So why not savor a fresh brewed cup, save yourself money, and make your personalized coffee before you take off in the mornings? That’s the question. We can help you explore your answer…AAChefJohnCoffee

Is New Technology Great?

JennAirWifiOven5Can you remember a time when you had to wait for the 11 o’clock news to get the sports scores? Have you ever had part of a song lyric in your head but couldn’t remember the whole song?  Or been in the grocery store and didn’t have the list of ingredients for the recipe you want to make?  Can you live without your smart phone?  With Google in your pocket, we can have a world’s worth of knowledge available anytime.  If you take your phone or tablet with you to the kitchen, you can look up recipes or cooking techniques with ease.   WolfWallOven2

I almost never reference a cookbook anymore.  Pretty soon, you may not even need to power up your phone or tablet to be a better cook.  We now have at least four brands of ovens (click on any of the pictures to go to their sites) with some pre-programmed smart cook functionality and at least four brands that are offering limited wi-fi connectivity to control or check your oven remotely.

WolfWallOven

I said “at least” because new models are being announced or rumored all the time. If you don’t cook a prime rib regularly, you may forget what temperature to set the meat probe. A smart oven has that built into it.  Just pull up the smart cook function and tell it that you want a medium rare prime rib and the oven does the rest.  Today’s most advanced ovens have settings for beef, pork, poultry, baked goods, and many more foods.

DacorWalloven A few days ago we installed Jenn-Air’s new oven.  It has their second generation advanced touch controller with photos of food built in.  If you don’t know the difference in medium and medium rare, the photos show examples of each.JennAirWifiOven6

The interface is now easier to use and they have added app controlled Wi-fi connectivity.  I installed the app this morning and without touching the oven, I changed the touch screen image, turned on the oven, and set the timer.  The advantage is that you can start the pre-heat while you are at the grocery store or turn off the oven that you forgot before you left the house.

JennAirWifiOven2Come by and we can show you the advanced controllers from Jenn-Air, Miele, Dacor and Wolf. Be sure to bring your phone so you can play on one yourself….just make sure you turn off the oven before you leave!

In Living Color

TLK_4C_SMAn old show jingle used to play “Do what you want to do – in living color”. Do you remember it? Before your time? It came to mind to me today because if you know Aggressive, you know we do what we want to do and that usually means changing…..all the time.

LK1

Our latest change is in our Subzero-Wolf section aka “The Living Kitchen” and it is very close to completion. We have a few finishing touches along with a few holes to fill in….but this area of our showroom is fast becoming my favorite spot to wander through. It really showcases the beauty of Subzero, Wolf, and Asko lines.

LK5

I really love the way the Subzero wine storage column looks in its new home! The design elements selected really make the Wolf Pro 48″ range “pop” while the Asko dishwasher is set in a beautiful, cozy cove. The three brands come together with vivid textures and metallic finishes to truly showcase the beauty and quality of the appliances.

Our showroom always has surprises springing up. We’d love for you to stop by so you can touch, feel, and look at “The Living Kitchen” in living color….TileCropCV

Don’t play with your food!!!

It’s 6pm. You’re just getting home from a long day. Your kids, spouse, significant other, your pet, (insert other hungry mouth here), or just YOU are starving. Who has time to cook a healthy meal that will be tasty and quick? Apparently we do. It might even mean that everyone puts their smart phones down and *GASP* talk to each other over a meal. Imagine?!? That’s just what Subzero-Wolf is suggesting AND they say we can do it easily with just a little planning and foresight. Hmmmm, interesting…

szw-logo

We were told as children not to play with our food….and it seems to me this campaign is saying “Why not?!”

Subzero-Wolf, an elite line of cooking and refrigeration products, has nobly started their “Reclaim the Kitchen” campaign. Their concept is that we are spending more time buying meals outside of the home and not cooking for ourselves (true, true). Are we missing out on fun and nutrition when we pick fast food or take out? Who really likes that garbage anyway? I don’t see any hands up…roastedchickenwithnewpotatoesandasparagusSo what they are saying in a nutshell is taking a few extra minutes to go buy fresh, fun, colorful, healthy foods with (or without) company and head home to create a quick meal is actually doable? Yes! And…all the “chefs”, young, in-between, and old, may have the chance to talk, share, and create memories as well! Little ones, playing with food, filling their bodies and souls with a home cooked meal that they help create within reach. My reach. Yours. I’m not kidding. Teach them about nutrition and helpfulness while bonding over food? I’m definitely picking up what Subzero-Wolf is putting down. I can do this! I think you can, too!

porkwithpolentaandgreenbeans

And what about all you singles out there? Blast some music, break out the seasonings and get your creative side flowing. Cooking is an art and what better way to nourish your body and creative spirit than with a masterpiece you’ve whipped up either for yourself or for someone visiting?

As our lives get a little nuts we don’t have to sacrifice happy bellies OR play time with our food in the kitchen. Find your inner kid and get back to playing with your food.

Subzero-Wolf has happily cooked up a website here with easy, fast recipes and links that fit our fabulous lifestyles and insane schedules. And here’s the link of their press release on this awesome initiative in partnership with Chef Kathleen Flinn.

And by the way… if you click the “food on the table” pictures you’ll go right to their recipe link.

Now You’re Cooking…With Steam!

When you think of steam power, does your mind race to a 19th century locomotive? Or did your first thought jump to the shirts and slacks waiting to be ironed? Well, we appliance geeks immediately think steam ovens (of course, we also recognize the appliance brands in the kitchen of every TV show and movie we watch).

If you’re unfamiliar with this technology, cooking with steam is not only super healthy, but surprisingly versatile. These appliances, such as the Wolf and Miele steam oven lines, are easy to use and easy to clean. In fact, there’s almost no clean up needed.

The staff at our store regularly heats up leftovers with steam ovens instead of microwaves. Now this may not seem worth mentioning, but these ovens don’t just heat leftovers-they rejuvenate them.

Let’s look at two of the brands we carry. First off, the Miele steam oven is a MasterChef product, which means you just select the type of food you are cooking and it will automatically select the right cooking mode for perfect results! This is known as a food-driven menu system. Miele’s stainless DG 4084 model goes for around $2,850.

Those who can their own food products will go bananas for this appliance, and the rest of us will discover an incredibly healthy way to cook entire meals. The Miele DG 4084 Classic 24” Steam oven may look small inside (everyone exclaims how small it seems), but it delivers big performance. Like most of Miele’s products, not only is it incredibly well engineered and designed, but it is good for 20 years plus.

Not to be outdone, Wolf’s offering is not just a steam oven, but also a convection cooker. This product is likely to be the “go to” cooking appliance for anyone that forks over the nearly $3,800 it costs to own one. In one of the initial presentations introducing this product, Wolf asked the question, “Is there anything this oven can’t cook?” The rest of that presentation then demonstrated the product’s seemingly limitless number of food preparation options, impressing everyone in attendance.

This product is packed with more cooking modes than most people would ever consider (14 in all). If it were not for the gourmet mode, also a food-driven menu system, it might be one of those products that gets demonstrated and then passed over by consumers for something less intimidating. But for those who want the best of all cooking worlds, not just steam, this offering from Wolf is the one for you.
