AACoffeeBeans*Classic-Coffee-Consumption* C-C-C at its Finest

When you think about coffee what’s the first thing that comes to mind? It very well may be Starbucks, but for me it’s all about the bean! There are many roasts to choose from along with many local coffee bean companies around Orlando. Fresh beans equal fresh, delicious coffee. We here at Aggressive Appliances have several built-in machines that provide you that personalized “get going” cup.

Miele built-in coffee systems friendly usage make it easy to take you through many options to get that fresh cup of Joe. Every “coffee head” is after that perfect cup! The Miele machine also offers a color option and can come plumbed or non-plumbed.

Wolf, Gaggenau, Thermador, Jenn-Air, and Bosch all offer these types of built-in products as well. It seems pretty simple and, in my opinionated taste buds, much more spectacular as compared to Starbucks and others. These units fit perfect in your customized kitchens, morning bars, guest suites, etc. So why not savor a fresh brewed cup, save yourself money, and make your personalized coffee before you take off in the mornings? That’s the question. We can help you explore your answer…AAChefJohnCoffee

Woodland Creatures, Soap, and Water

Dishwashing

This morning as I unloaded my dishwasher I decided it may be my favorite appliance (closely tied with my range, refrigerator, microwave, washer, and dryer). Spending most of my young adulthood in New Jersey I was quite accustomed to doing dishes the old fashioned way….with a sponge and soap. Most of the homes where I lived didn’t have room for dishwashers without giving up valuable cabinet space. Many homes were older and smaller. Winter would come and my poor dishwashing hands would take a beating in that dry, cold weather.

Since moving to Central Florida one of my favorite luxuries is my dishwasher. Florida is blessed with lots of newer construction and space so dishwashers are a staple in many homes and apartments. The chances of magical woodland creatures helping with housework are pretty slim even in Disney’s backyard, so I am quite grateful to modern engineering and design. They have provided indulgences such as being able to wake up to clean dishes in the morning while slumbering in dreamland overnight.

Bosch Dishwasher

There are a variety of live dishwashers on our showroom floor. Having experienced first hand how to load, unload, reconfigure, and use all the features on our floor models is a huge help in showing and explaining them to our clients.

A personal favorite is the Bosch brand. Depending on the model, Bosch can offer an interior light, an indicator light on the floor showing it is running, energy efficient condensation drying, a half load option, a speed perfect cycle, a water softener, plenty of rack adjustability, and a third rack (a personal favorite) for those pieces you don’t want bouncing all over the machine. Being able to put lids, large utensils, ramekins, and small items in the third top rack really help with clean up of jobs large and small. They are also quiet, perfect for overnight washing!

I’m grateful for dishwashers. They allow more time for doing what I love…cooking, spending time with friends and family, or just being able to go to sleep and wake up to a set of clean dishes from the day before. Life is good!

Whatcha Got Cooking?

bsh cREWThis week I was given the opportunity to fly to California for BSH immersion training. I’ve never been to California and haven’t been to an out-of-state product training in quite some time. I had no idea what to expect, who I’d meet, or how much I’d learn.

What I found in Cali was this…no matter where you go, or where people come from, good people are good people. The crew we had at this training was by far the best group of people I’ve ever had the pleasure of learning with. We laughed, we laughed harder, we cooked, we learned, and we made some really great friends that became more like family on this trip.

BSH 2There is something to be said for being able to cook on Bosch products surrounded by bright, funny, creative people. It also helps to have a professional chef explaining what to do. We used induction, gas, steam, convection, and learned all the different ways Bosch can really make a decadent meal fast, easy, fun, and exciting. The BSH group gave me the chance to try out one of my own family rice recipes to give me that final push to give up my aluminum pot and fully embrace induction cooking. My classmates enjoyed my dish (or they were just being kind) and I was sold on induction.

BSH 3We have many of these pieces on display at Aggressive. BSH provided us all with a steam cooking recipe book. I’m heading back to Florida today armed with a plan to try these recipes, along with my own, on our live appliances.

bsh 4I gained so much knowledge this week, but one of the most important things I took away from this trip was that there are great people that live all over the world, people that have so much to share and teach you, people passionate in their appliance geekiness and sillyness. I feel honored and privileged to have met them all. Special thanks to the BSH family for providing us this opportunity!!!

BSH Crew NightNow….come on down and let’s take my Bosch knowledge for a spin!!!! I’ll be steam/convecting goodies REAL soon…

Fun in the Kitchen

Today’s subject: Fun in the kitchen. Men, get your minds out of the gutter and think appliances, specifically dishwashers. A man shared with me that he and his wife don’t own a dishwasher and actually visit while they do the dishes (by hand). No, his name wasn’t John Boy Walton, but for the rest of us it’s more likely a struggle between wanting to cook a healthy meal at home, and really hating to make a mountain of dirty dishes and utensils. If this is your struggle then your solution is simple- obtain a good dishwasher. Oh yeah, and while your new machine is quietly doing the cleaning you should ask your spouse how their day was.

Here’s a few of my dishwasher recommendations to meet a variety of budgets:

Miele (see video) Models ranging from $899-$2,299

General Electric GDT720 (see video) (with bottle wash jets, also great for cleaning smoothie glasses) starting at $899

Bosch SHX7PT55UC $1299 (see it here)

KitchenAid models starting at $699 (built like tanks!)

Whirlpool WDF520PADM starting at $399 (see it here)

The Quietest In Class Has Arrived

The new 2013 Bosch dishwashers have arrived and while Bosch has always been on the leaderboard in the highly competitive industry of dishwashers, they have officially broken away from the pack. With everyone making so much noise about the quietest dishwasher, it seems that the Bosch engineers have triumphed once again.

Their latest quiet number is 39dBA. Since Bosch held the previous low of 42dBA, they are resoundingly the quietest brand around. Here’s the proper context to understand the decibel (dBA) number: An increase of 3 dBA is the equivalent of two dishwashers running at once; that means they’ve cut the noise in half! You can explore the “science of quiet” over at Bosch’s website and compare their dishwasher to other familiar sounds at varying decibels. The Bosch Dishwasherdishwasher is now so quiet that the only way some know the machine is running is by the presence of their InfoLight shining onto the floor; as can be seen here in Bosch’s commercial highlighting this un-heard of level of quiet. The ad goes on to feature brush-less motors and multi layers of sound absorbing insulation. The new design elements work together to make this the quietest dishwasher around, so there’s no more waiting until the dishwasher is finished to gather around and start a family movie night!

In regards to load ability, the upper models are fantastic, with lower priced models less impressive. The innovative 3rd rack is now available in more models and at lower price points than ever before (beginning at $899). You’ll get up to 30% more loading area on models with this 3rd rack design. With water usage still down in the 2.4-3.3 gallon range and 4 different design configurations, this new line of dishwashers will resonate with consumers in a big way.
