Refrigerators? Surprise!!!

SubzeroVintageDesign and style have always played a major part in kitchen décor and are just as important as function and quality to many kitchen dreamers. With current kitchen design featuring concealed appliances in cabinetry, it is no shock that the majority of our refrigeration and freezer sales are for built-in products. SubzeroDrawers

With built-ins you could lose a lot of functional cubic capacity depending on the width and number of columns you choose. There are great solutions for this in the form of under-counter refrigeration and here are a few reasons why you might want to consider these options.TrueBevCnter

If you open your refrigerator now….what do you see? You will most likely find what most people find, a lot of prime space being used by beverages! If you were to take those beverages and move them to an under-counter refrigerator you free up valuable real estate in the main “food” refrigerator. You will also reduce the amount of times you open your main refrigerator door, reducing energy consumption because the unit doesn’t have to work to get back up to a cold temp. PerlickDrawersIf you entertain a lot, consider a model that will bring drinks to a crisp cold within a half hour. There are models out there and we have them. If you have children, even better. You can put snacks and drinks at an easy to reach height so they can help themselves! There are door and drawer models to really open up creativity. How about a produce drawer right by the sink?TrueDrawersSo when you are thinking about renovating your kitchen or building a new house and working on the layout, stop in and talk to us about your options for refrigeration. While under-counter refrigeration may sometimes be a last thought, we can show you why you may want to make it one of your first.

Is New Technology Great?

JennAirWifiOven5Can you remember a time when you had to wait for the 11 o’clock news to get the sports scores? Have you ever had part of a song lyric in your head but couldn’t remember the whole song?  Or been in the grocery store and didn’t have the list of ingredients for the recipe you want to make?  Can you live without your smart phone?  With Google in your pocket, we can have a world’s worth of knowledge available anytime.  If you take your phone or tablet with you to the kitchen, you can look up recipes or cooking techniques with ease.   WolfWallOven2

I almost never reference a cookbook anymore.  Pretty soon, you may not even need to power up your phone or tablet to be a better cook.  We now have at least four brands of ovens (click on any of the pictures to go to their sites) with some pre-programmed smart cook functionality and at least four brands that are offering limited wi-fi connectivity to control or check your oven remotely.

WolfWallOven

I said “at least” because new models are being announced or rumored all the time. If you don’t cook a prime rib regularly, you may forget what temperature to set the meat probe. A smart oven has that built into it.  Just pull up the smart cook function and tell it that you want a medium rare prime rib and the oven does the rest.  Today’s most advanced ovens have settings for beef, pork, poultry, baked goods, and many more foods.

DacorWalloven A few days ago we installed Jenn-Air’s new oven.  It has their second generation advanced touch controller with photos of food built in.  If you don’t know the difference in medium and medium rare, the photos show examples of each.JennAirWifiOven6

The interface is now easier to use and they have added app controlled Wi-fi connectivity.  I installed the app this morning and without touching the oven, I changed the touch screen image, turned on the oven, and set the timer.  The advantage is that you can start the pre-heat while you are at the grocery store or turn off the oven that you forgot before you left the house.

JennAirWifiOven2Come by and we can show you the advanced controllers from Jenn-Air, Miele, Dacor and Wolf. Be sure to bring your phone so you can play on one yourself….just make sure you turn off the oven before you leave!

Everything AND the Kitchen Sink

AlfrescoAlfresco rolled in to give us an update on all their outdoor cooking and accessory line. While you should definitely come in to get the full story on their product line (grills, pizza oven, 28″ beverage center that can hold a full keg, to name a few) two of their add-ons really made an impression on me. A built-in grill does not make for a full outdoor kitchen experience….but with these sweet add-ons you’ll have no problem fulfilling every one of your outdoor entertaining needs.

Their 30″ Versa sink MSRP $1197 has plenty to offer. You can fill the sink with ice (and beer!), use it as a prep sink, use other accessories to create your own unique prep space, or rearrange all the parts to suit that day’s needs or wants. With a full size kitchen sink drain, it’s easy to clear it out, too. Everything you see below is included in the full beverage package…..check out the shelf for the BLENDER. I LOVE that! Pictured here is the bar package MSRP $806, the serving shelf MSRP $572, and the middle shelf MSRP $105.

Or this…with the sink add on package MSRP $549, and high self with a pot rack MSRP $572, and middle shelf MSRP $105.AlfrescoPrepCenterHighShelf

There are accessory packages you can purchase to either do it up beverage style or make it a prep center. This sink is offered in widths of 14″ MSRP $1003 and 24″ MSRP $1405.

Their dry pantry caught my eye, too. The dry pantry takes outdoor storage to a whole new level. We have a LOT of bugs in Florida. These cabinets seal well, channel rain down the specially designed gaskets, and keep out creepy, crawly, bugs.

Alfresco42-Inch-Sealed-Dry-Storage-Pantry-Open

They also seal out humidity, so if you wanted to keep towels, or supplies out there for easy access, you won’t have to keep filling it every time you’re outside. They come in heights of 21″ and 33″ depending on whether you want it under your grill, or right beneath your counter. They offer a 30″ and 42″ width. MSRP is $1749-$2399, depending on the size. With pull out drawers and shelves, you have the option of where and how you want things to grab things.Alfresco30-Inch-Sealed-Dry-Storage-Pantry-Open

Stop in and see what other ways you can take your indoor fun…..outside.

More Than Words

gaggenau-logoGaggenau. I’ve mentioned the name a few times to a few people outside of my industry with looks of “Huh?” But those who know Gaggenau, know Gaggenau. This super premium brand, with exceptional quality and styling, is worth knowing about. The design, while not for everyone, may just be yours. If it is you’ll recognize it immediately. Gaggenau2 The sleek design, innovation, quality, and artistry of Gaggenau has always caught my eye. The attention to detail and craftsmanship in their built-in cooking products, refrigeration line, ventilation, and dishwashers are a true reflection of their premium status in the appliance industry. I could tell you that the ovens have doors that never get hotter than 65 degrees on the outside. I could tell you that their built-in cooktops have knobs that are integrated into countertops creating seamless countertop views. I could tell you that you can combine a variety of cooktops to create a custom cooking combination.Gaggenau2__1807_x_1357_-1438x1080 I could tell you how the refrigerators disappear in a kitchen but have stainless steel interiors, precision temperatures, and are the quietest in their class. I could tell you that BSH, the parent company of Gaggenau, Thermador, and Bosch, with Gaggenau being the top of their lines, produce their dishwashers. Yes, that kind of quality. Gaggenau1 But talking and telling rarely translate to the actual experience. Seeing the product, turning the knobs, feeling the weight and sturdiness of the doors, viewing the lighting, touching the materials used to manufacture their product, that’s when you know Gaggenau. There are some things that don’t require words. Gaggenau is one of them.

“Blank Space”

11873 1000_VIKING_PRWe’ve had a blank space in our Viking kitchen countertop for a short time while we patiently awaited the release of a brand new Viking piece. Much to the surprise of my appliance enamored heart it was filled last Friday with possibly one of the most magnificent 36” induction cooktops I’ve ever laid my eyes on.

Viking36InductionCktp

The LED lighting in Viking’s signature blue illuminates the surface to artfully let you know “Hey, I’m on! Look at me!”

VikingCktp1

There is a subtle wavy image graphic in the corner of each element to indicate which burner, or burners, are on. The 6 elements are 9 inches squared beneath the surface and will boost to a high of 3700 watts (the gas equivalent of 26000 BTUs) for the first 10 minutes when turned on high. ALL of the elements can be on at once and allowing the full surface can be used.VikingCktp2

This model has a beveled edge and a grey-ish mirrored finish that is visually interesting and provides a very different look than any other brand currently in the market. See….

VikingCktp3

If you’re still unaware of the pros of cooking with induction, let me fill you in. It’s energy efficient, much easier to keep clean, fast, and responsive. You really have to see it to understand just how fun induction is to use.  If you’re in the market for a new 30″ or 36” cooktop this Viking cooktop is another reason to visit us.

Maybe this choice will be forever, because it certainly won’t go down in flames…(cue guilty pleasure cheesy pop music)…

Whole Latte Love

When I first came to Aggressive last year I was surprised how each day I felt like I was walking on sunshine, full of pep & vinegar, and loving every minute of my new appliance home (still am!). I soon figured out why. Aggressive drugs its staff….with caffeine!!! There are built-in, live coffee machines dispensing delicious java all day, every day we are open. We partake of this deliciousness often. It’s one of the many company “perks” (pun intended).

MieleCoffee1

Come down and see the Wolf, Miele, Thermador, and JennAir models here on our floor and take a sip of fresh brewed coffee for yourself. Everyone here has a favorite machine for different reasons, so it’s worth trying them out personally to find your favorite. Ask any of us here what machine we like best and we will happily tell you why. After all, we are hooked, hyper, and ready to share advice and coffee!
