Follow Your Path

BlogKitchens-1There are times in my life when I moved too much and other times when I stayed put for long periods of time. Moving brings about all sorts of newness and if you happen to have moved into a new home, either new construction or old, appliances are sure to be a part of this exciting milestone.BlogKitchens-3

It’s so much fun to play on new appliances in a new place! Each appliance offers new ways of placing things, storing, cleaning, and cooking. Using them poses challenges, learning curves, and stretches your levels of creativity. These experiences add to the newness and novelty of a new home, whether or not it’s new or just “new” to you.BlogKitchens-4

We have many people come in when they are remodeling or building a new home to find their perfect kitchens. Since we have such a wide variety of brands and choices fitting into just about any budget, it makes kitchen buying fun! Live kitchens help seal the deal for many. Being able to touch, use, and see the products makes a very big difference in decision making.BlogKitchens-2

We back up our product with professional installations and deliveries. Being an in-house authorized service company for many major brands of appliances means you don’t have to call anyone but us for your appliance needs. Nothing is subcontracted out. Our own employees handle everything from sales, delivery, install, to service. One stop. For 36 years and counting.BlogKitchens-5You may be on a new journey, or not. But as you journey, if you need appliances along the way…we do hope your path leads you here.

Some Things Are Meant to Be

Wolf Angle ShotPeanut butter and chocolate. Warm milk and honey. Salt and pepper. Strawberries and cream. Bread and butter. Macaroni and cheese. Biscuits and gravy. Shrimp and grits. Fish and chips. Some things are just meant to be together. And it’s clear that Wolf understands that since introducing their induction ranges.

Wolf Logo

Imagine pairing up an awesome 30″ or 36″ induction cooktop with a 30″ or 36″ dual convection oven and what you get is Wolf‘s freshest addition…their freestanding induction range. Let’s add this up, shall we?

Wolf Pro Induction Range rev

Induction is the fastest, most responsive way to cook. It is super easy to keep clean, is safe, and efficient. Who needs added heat in the kitchen? We don’t. None of us do, especially not in Florida. You can keep your cool with this range surface. Wolf ovens offer dual convection fans, 10 cooking modes, a temperature probe that alerts you when your food reaches temp, and multi-rack configuration convenience. Choose your knob color to make it your own, in black, stainless, or their signature red. Having a pop-out control panel keeps the sleek appearance when not in use, but allows for easy reading when using the oven timer and light since it faces up.Wolf Pro Induction Range 3rev

There are two styles to choose from, transitional and professional, in both 30″ and 36″. MSRP starts at $6695, with the 36″ professional model topping out at $9350. We have the 36″ professional induction range on our floor if you are ready to jump into the best of both worlds, Induction and Wolf. Some things are meant to be.

You Don’t Have to Push My Buttons

FrigProInd2Recently product info came across my desk that got me pretty psyched that there is another option for induction drop-in cooktops about to hit the market this fall. When these pieces hit the market they will be one of the few manufacturers to offer one very important feature in the drop-in induction cooktop category….knob controls. If you’ve shied away from tap and smooth touch controls in an induction cooktop, you might want to keep reading.FrigProLogo1

Frigidaire Professional series is coming out in the 3rd quarter of this year with their 30″ and 36″ knob controlled induction cooktop. The MSRP is $1949 on the 30″ and $1999 on the 36″ option, which is significantly lower than Viking and Gaggenau, but just a little lower than Big Chill (other brands offering knob controls for a drop-in, built-in induction cooktop).

FrigProInd3

The 36″ model boasts one 10″ induction element with a min/max wattage of 2500W/3800W, one 8″ induction element of 2300W/3200W, two 7″ of 1800W/2600W, and one 6″ of 1450W/2000W. When using the knob the control knob will allow you to adjust between high and low, as well as increments of .5 between 1.5 and 9. The screen above the knob will display the power level.

FrigProInd5

Having options on the market for a drop-in induction cooktop will open up this type of cooking to clients that are unable to use touch controls and/or may be looking for a more budget friendly choice with design elements that pair up well with the whole Frigidaire Professional kitchen suite.

Live Beautifully – Breathe Easier!

CatturaCompleteCaptureSmoke, steam, grease, heat, odors…..all things you don’t want in your kitchen. And while we all know we need ventilation to remove these special effects during our cooking adventures, we don’t always like the options available to do the dirty work. Here’s an option you will now have that you may not have considered.

Best

Best has come out with their Cattura downdraft ventilation unit that is available in  30″, 36″, and 48″. Why would this be important to anyone? If you have a view you don’t want to obstruct or an island you don’t want a hood hanging down from….keep reading.

CatturaPromo2rev

This powerful ventilation is incredibly versatile! You can put it behind any gas or electric cooktop, a drop-in gas range-top, a free standing or slide-in range, OR with a built-in oven over a cooktop. Best has managed to do this by provided 9 different venting options up, down, and sideways! Rear and recirculating options too!

CatturaVenting1CatturaVenting2

There were not many options for downdrafts until this piece. Many manufacturers wouldn’t recommend their downdraft with anything but their own brand of cooking products and/or they were limited by the types of cooking products they could pair up with in the line-up. The Best Cattura will match up with any indoor cooking product that is 30″, 36″, or 48″.

CatturaPromo5

The stainless steel mesh filters and heat deflectors are dishwasher safe and easily come out to be cleaned. Conveniently it will remind you to clean the filter after every 30 hours of use. The housing stays cool due to these easily removable heat deflectors. There are two levels of LED lighting with the Best logo hidden in the cabinet when the downdraft is in the down position.  For additional flexibility there is an optional, wired remote control that can be positioned away from the hood. It’s complete capture design can be seen in this video using shadow imagining.

CatturaPromo6rev

So if you had your heart set on a beautiful, social, unobstructed cooking view that won’t choke you or your guests….consider the Best Cattura. After all, their motto is “Live Beautifully”….and this product is a testament of this mission statement.

Interview with a Dishwasher

Asko LogoAsko Logan 3What happens when you interview a fellow co-worker about their new Asko dishwasher? You get a lot of answers and some silly photo ops…..I put my glasses on for this one to get my “reporter” groove on…Asko Logan 5

Logan used to resort to a base model “other” brand that was noisy (you could hear the *squish*squish* of the water) and didn’t clean her dishes. It was bad, so bad that Quinn (pictured below in all his furry cuteness), her fur baby, helped out with the dishes. Asko Logan QuinnFast forward to about 6 months ago when Logan was the proud purchaser of a top-of-the-line Asko dishwasher and here is what she has to say from first hand experience…

Logan’s words:

“I put REALLY dirty dishes in there. I even put a casserole dish caked on with a dark berry cobbler and it came out CLEAN!!”

“My wine glasses come out streak free. I usually let them sit for a few days because I don’t have a full load right away.”

“I LOVE the silverware tray. I never use the silverware basket.”

“I don’t hear it. The little display window shows the time left. I also like that the design is simple, doesn’t have a name on the front, and doesn’t compete with other design elements in my kitchen.”

“Quinn likes to sit on the door when the dishwasher is open and sometimes ‘pre-wash’ the dishes. He is 10 lbs.” (It’s a good thing this dishwasher sanitizes the dishes!!!!!)

Asko Logan 4

The top of the line, D5656XXLHS model with a tubular handle has a MSRP of $2155, with the pro handle MSRP at $2210. Their base model starts at $979!!! Inside this stainless steel interior dishwasher sits a fully removal third utensil rack positioned in the center of the dishwasher. The WideClean zones offer more powerful wash action on pots, pans, and cobbler crusted Fiestaware. This model also has an interior light. And since Asko is the dishwasher line for the Subzero and Wolf family, you get a 2 year warranty AND amazing customer service. They also offer a 3 year warranty if it’s purchased and installed by us included as part of a full Subzero-Wolf package. Of course, we have this model and other Askos on the floor. We’d be happy to show them to you!Asko Logan 1

Always Be True To You

TrueVintage1It occurred to me on my latest appliance adventure to Missouri that garages have made a major impact on American history. From music, to computers, to appliances…..they have been an integral part in making magic happen in many industries. After hearing that Bob Trulaske, his father, and his brother went to work on the first roll-top-soda-pop-storing refrigerator in a garage, it made me giggle a little because well….another American garage invention success story.TrueVintage2

So who was Bob Trulaske? He is the founder of True Manufacturing, the world’s leading commercial refrigeration supplier. Founded and made in St. Louis, Missouri, 75% of the raw materials used are sourced from the USA. It’s not a shock that Bob also served in the military and was a World War II Veteran.

TrueVintage3

While sitting in their local pop shop, Bob and his brother came up with the idea for a refrigerator that wouldn’t need an expensive block of ice. They promised the owner that when they made their first refrigerator it would be his. So in their garage they built the first commercial soda refrigerator. This roll-top caught the attention of 7-Up and Coca-Cola. These companies wanted these refrigerators and True was more than happy to oblige!

True

Later in the 70s they took a shot at more than just beverage coolers and ventured into the food service industry. People thought they were nuts. What did they know about the food service industry? Considering that the company is in the majority of today’s restaurants, we can see that naysayer hadn’t a clue as to the true capability of True‘s ability to figure it out AND be the best.

True1

Fast forward to 2008 when True decided to take another chance in yet another division they knew nothing about…..the residential market. Again, they were told they were nuts. What did they know about the residential market? Yup. Imagine that? With that in mind I could picture them laughing as they brought to market an uncomparable product line chock full of pieces like a 42″ and 48″ built-in refrigerator with true commercial qualities, under-counter refrigeration, wine preservation, beer dispenser, and an ice machine.

TrueIce

True offers decades of commercial quality brought to market in their residential line. Features such as stainless interior, serious compressed insulation, a 3 year warranty, and all under-counter products being indoor AND outdoor rated, are just some of the perks to their residential line. It can’t all be commercial though….so they add wonderful features such as colorful, choice lighting and stainless steel buttons, backed by hundreds of thousands square footage of manufacturing capabilities.

TrueKitchen

We have these exceptional pieces on display. Stop in so I can infuse you with the same excitement I experienced walking the historical factory that has had a huge, true impact on appliances throughout the world. Truly TrueTrue to and for You.

The Big JFD

Candy3Sometimes I take a moment to check in on the National Food Holiday. This week I was most pleasantly surprised to find that today is NATIONAL JUNK FOOD DAY!!!! Who doesn’t love junk food? That guilty pleasure we all indulge in even though we know we shouldn’t. Or maybe we should? Life is short! Live a little! Everything in moderation is a good thing, even junk food.

Candy2

After brainstorming with some junk food junkies and compiling a few of my favorite ingredients, I threw together this salty, crunchy, sweet candy. It’s a holiday, after all, and candy is the ultimate junk food!

Candy1

So here’s my own recipe I literally crushed and threw together. While the picture above shows raisins, I nixed them and just went with cherries. You can pretty much do WHATEVER you want with this recipe and change up any part of it depending on your craving. So get creative, or stick to my recipe, and junk it up! I can tell you this….as is….it was a HUGE hit!!!!

You’re Fired!!!

BSlogoBlueStarSalamander2

Over fired! Fired up! About to be burned, broiled, caramelized, seared, and melted? You’re hot!! So hot!!! *Poof* You’re a Salamander!!!

So for a few months now we’ve had a pretty impressive, counter-top, professional grade broiler on our floor that has our clients asking “What is that thing?” “What do you do with it?” My friends, it’s a BlueStar Salamander and if you are ALL in with your kitchen equipment, this is the piece you’re missing (or maybe not because you already have one?).

BlueStarSalamander3

Why would you want this broiler? Well, for one it offers super fast results if you want to sear a restaurant-quality steak. If you are looking to finish off your French onion soups or delicately caramelize your crème brulee, toast some amazing garlic bread, or crisp anything for that matter, you can do so in minutes. I’m thinking heating up a slice of leftover pizza might even be fun and crispy in seconds which is how fast you want it out of the refrigerator. It frees up your oven so you don’t have to switch to a broil mid-prep.

BlueStarStar

Ovens provide “under” fire, while this broiler provides “over” fire, concentrating the heat from above using ceramic infrared heat. With 11,000 BTUs of power, 215 square inches of cooking space, and a max broil temp of 1850 degrees, you can get serious about finishing off meals or making them right in the broiler. It offers three levels so you can use the lowest broil setting positioned furthest from the top to broil delicate things like fish, quickly. I’m just loving the idea of crisping everything. Fast. Super FAST.

BlueStarSalamander4

You know I love colors….you can coordinate the knobs to your BlueStar Range knobs!!! There are over 190 color knob choices and 10 metal trim finishes available. What a gem of a company. And it’s all stainless steel construction made in Reading, PA. Truly American made.

It can go on your counter-top or above a range with their mounting shelf. We show it here wall mounted under a BlueStar range but in person it’s a stunning and powerful kitchen look. Stop in and see for yourself!
