In Living Color

TLK_4C_SMAn old show jingle used to play “Do what you want to do – in living color”. Do you remember it? Before your time? It came to mind to me today because if you know Aggressive, you know we do what we want to do and that usually means changing…..all the time.

Our latest change is in our Subzero-Wolf section aka “The Living Kitchen” and it is very close to completion. We have a few finishing touches along with a few holes to fill in….but this area of our showroom is fast becoming my favorite spot to wander through. It really showcases the beauty of Subzero, Wolf, and Asko lines.

I really love the way the Subzero wine storage column looks in its new home! The design elements selected really make the Wolf Pro 48″ range “pop” while the Asko dishwasher is set in a beautiful, cozy cove. The three brands come together with vivid textures and metallic finishes to truly showcase the beauty and quality of the appliances.

Our showroom always has surprises springing up. We’d love for you to stop by so you can touch, feel, and look at “The Living Kitchen” in living color….TileCropCV

When Smoke Gets In Your Eyes…

KTAdwndrftONrevWhen it comes to replacing a downdraft range there are a few solid options. It is a common situation that may come up when trying to retro-fit an appliance that has cooked its last meal; or a kitchen remodel is in the works and ventilation hanging within the design space just ruins “the flow”. If this is your conundrum, there are solutions.

Ideally having overhead ventilation is the way to go, but let’s face it. Overhead ventilation may obstruct a clean, sweet, streamlined view that may only be achieved by keeping hanging, albeit useful, objects out of the air space above the range. Perhaps the vision included an open concept and powerful ventilation isn’t a top priority. So what’s a chef to do?

Both KitchenAid and JennAir offer downdraft ranges in sleek options both in dual fuel or electric, while JennAir offers two handle options along with a color choice of black. With oven capacities that range from 6.2-6.4 cubic feet, three convection cooking modes,  and AquaLift® Self Clean, the only thing left to do is to choose the knob and handle style that suits your style. MSRP varies from $2999 to $3599. We will have a JennAir model arriving on our floor next week. Stop by and see it!JennAir

Identity Crisis?

What is stainless steel? When it comes to appliances stainless steel is considered a color. It really is a finish, a very popular finish, but not everyone loves stainless steel. Avoiding stainless steel for new appliances isn’t always black and white.  There are shades of grey and red and blue and green and…..

SS-5

With stainless, more and more we get the fingerprint complaint. Yes, stainless does show finger prints more readily than painted finishes. If you have been licking your fingers after scraping the cake batter bowl you will most likely be leaving a sticky mess on any finish, no matter what color.  Not everyone has the dexterity to touch only the handle so when visiting our customers we do often see fingerprints at kid heights or even nose prints at Labrador retriever height.

 Tuscany

For years, Viking Range Corp has offered special order finishes in several colors.  BlueStar is famous for their ranges but now has a great line-up of cooktops, ovens and hoods as well. The BlueStar name came into being when Prizer Painting (yes, a paint company) purchased the residential division of restaurant range manufacturer.  So it’s no surprise that a special order of a new BlueStar can arrive in nearly any color as well as a variety of metal finishes. We mentioned KitchenAid’s new Black Steel a few weeks ago (Link to KitchenAid’s “Black Steel My Heart” Blog); many of our customers think it looks awesome. Blue Star Color WheelIf color alone won’t meet your design requirements, check out the classic designs of AGA’s CookerLa Cornue’s French design, and Viking’s Tuscany SeriesVent-A-Hood goes a step further and doesn’t just offer traditional, classic and modern hoods in stainless steel and painted finishes, but allows special orders on their hoods in brass or copper with custom applied metallic trims.  Go crazy with it! In keeping with our tradition of being the best appliance dealer in Central Florida, Aggressive Appliances has all of these products on display with the exception of Viking Tuscany due in soon.  Don’t pass up the chance to see the Duck Egg Blue Aga, three different La Cornue ranges, and two custom Vent-a-Hoods.

More Than Words

gaggenau-logoGaggenau. I’ve mentioned the name a few times to a few people outside of my industry with looks of “Huh?” But those who know Gaggenau, know Gaggenau. This super premium brand, with exceptional quality and styling, is worth knowing about. The design, while not for everyone, may just be yours. If it is you’ll recognize it immediately. Gaggenau2 The sleek design, innovation, quality, and artistry of Gaggenau has always caught my eye. The attention to detail and craftsmanship in their built-in cooking products, refrigeration line, ventilation, and dishwashers are a true reflection of their premium status in the appliance industry. I could tell you that the ovens have doors that never get hotter than 65 degrees on the outside. I could tell you that their built-in cooktops have knobs that are integrated into countertops creating seamless countertop views. I could tell you that you can combine a variety of cooktops to create a custom cooking combination.Gaggenau2__1807_x_1357_-1438x1080 I could tell you how the refrigerators disappear in a kitchen but have stainless steel interiors, precision temperatures, and are the quietest in their class. I could tell you that BSH, the parent company of Gaggenau, Thermador, and Bosch, with Gaggenau being the top of their lines, produce their dishwashers. Yes, that kind of quality. Gaggenau1 But talking and telling rarely translate to the actual experience. Seeing the product, turning the knobs, feeling the weight and sturdiness of the doors, viewing the lighting, touching the materials used to manufacture their product, that’s when you know Gaggenau. There are some things that don’t require words. Gaggenau is one of them.
